UK Company Carillion is optimistic about its prospects after the construction giant was chosen as the selected bidder for the Public Private Partnership project to deliver the Midlands private finance tranche of the Priority School Building Programme (PSBP).
Carillion will be injecting £8m of their own equity into the project to replace/rejuvenate eight schools currently viewed as being at a substandard level. From this construction and service revenues are believed to reach revenues of approximately £190m.
In addition to the schools project, Carillion have also secured a number of other exciting projects. For example earlier this month, they won an £80m contract working at Heathrow Airport, providing a range of management services for both hard and soft facilities. They have also signed a 22-month contract with Barts Health to provide management services to a number of UK properties. So far this year, Carillion have secured and won over £4.6bn of new work, however experts working for the company have predicted that this will increase to over £18.5bn by the end of the calendar year.
Carillion clearly seem to be benefitting from the recovery within the UK and Middle East, and the company have taken the Public Private Partnership project as well as confirmed projects such as the £75m Liverpool Football Club contract as “signs of improvement, which indicate that the medium-term outlook remains positive”.
With contracts already being secured for next year, there are plenty of job opportunities available for both contract and permanent staff.
