Next Stage of King's Cross Redevelopment Secured by Bam Construction

Argent pushes forward with development plans for Four Pancras Square, the next step of their £2 billion King’s cross redevelopment project.

The proposals for the 173,000 sq. ft. building will go to planning next week, with bets on BAM construction, already responsible for Three Pancras Square next door, as favourite to win the scheme. The building will be comprised of 10 storeys including 20,500 sq. ft. of retail space on the ground floor with construction costs being estimated at around £50 million.

The latest addition to the Kings Cross redevelopment continues the existing pattern set forth by Argent, the relevant property developers, who have designed a combination of residential, commercial and public spaces for the project all in keeping with quality design and low carbon energy.

Once completed the new King’s Cross area, a total space of 67 acres, will provide up to 2,000 new homes (50% of which are classed as affordable housing), two new schools, a library, new public swimming pools, 500,000 sq. ft. of retail space and the ability to accommodate over 45,000 people to live and work. All of this will be powered by the new energy centre within King’s Cross itself, with gas powered Jenbacher engines generating 80% of the required energy and excess heat from the engines providing 100% of the sites heating requirements, this project stands as one of the most sustainable developments in the UK.

With development in full swing and many buildings and Kings Cross station already completed, it can be expected that the entire site will finish on schedule. With apartments already on sale and the likes of business giants Google snatching up retail space, the success of this property development is highly anticipated.
