The successful candidate will work five days a week in the client’s office in Manchester, dropping to a hybrid arrangement, with 2-3 days in the office after 2 months. Our client is a multidisciplinary engineering and construction contractor with expertise across the rail industry. Key Responsibilities: -Develop and deliver mechanical designs and detailed engineering documentation in line with project requirements. -Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports. -Conduct on-site visits, inspections, and surveys to assess existing systems and support design validation. -Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution. -Ensure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and health and safety regulations. -Provide technical input during project planning, risk assessments, and design reviews. Attention all Site Managers/Construction Managers! Our client are experts in the design, installation, and maintenance of EV and associated electrical infrastructure. As part of their continued growth and commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions, we are seeking an experienced Site Manager for a 6-month+ contract to oversee key project delivery for sites between Bolton, Preston & Blackpool. You will be working on a range of projects from EV charging networks to large-scale solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS), supporting the transition to a cleaner, greener energy future. -6-Month Contract (Preston). -Day Rate: £380–£410 (DOE) | Start: Immediate | Full-Time, On-Site. This role offers the opportunity to lead on the ground, ensuring each project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: -Lead site operations, managing teams and subcontractors to deliver works safely, on time, and to spec. -Coordinate site logistics, materials, tools, and plant to align with project schedules. -Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. -Prepare and manage documentation, including RAMS, permits, ITPs, and handover records. -Review and validate technical documents and subcontractor submissions. -Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement on site. -Act as a key liaison between the site, internal teams, and the client. Here at Blueprint Recruitment, we are looking for a Senior Planner to join leading tier 1 contractor within the energy sector, on a long-term contract, with hybrid working available. This role offers the opportunity to work on an exciting substation project with a motivated and experienced team. -Day rate: £400-£500 (depending on experience). -Hybrid working arrangement. Key Responsibilities: -Develop and manage schedules for HV substation projects, including tender and design phases. -Deliver project control services: scheduling, prioritisation, reporting, and earned value management. -Interpret drawings, use critical path methods, assess delays and changes, and support risk management. -Understand client needs, provide tailored solutions, and maintain strong communication. -Work with internal/external teams, contribute to industry groups, and uphold safety and environmental standards. Calling all Senior Design Managers with a passion for power networks! We’re partnering with a highly respected engineering solutions provider to find a Senior Design Manager with proven experience in electrical transmission and distribution (T&D). This is a key leadership role, supporting the design and delivery of high-voltage (HV) infrastructure across the UK, including projects for National Grid, SSEN and other major clients. You’ll be joining a technically capable and motivated team with a strong track record in delivering multi-disciplinary electrical infrastructure projects from concept through to commissioning. Key Responsibilities: -Lead multi-disciplinary design teams on high-voltage transmission and distribution projects across the UK (typically 33kV–400kV). -Oversee the full design lifecycle (FEED to closeout), ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and timely delivery to APM/PMP/PRINCE2 standards. -Take on the role of Design Manager or Project Manager for both design-only and EPC/Design & Build contracts, especially those in regulated electricity markets. -Ensure all deliverables comply with CDM 2015, NEC contracts, and utility-specific standards, including National Grid TP137, TP141, and ENA specifications. -Provide technical governance and assurance, including Principal Designer responsibilities and LCDAE coordination where required. -Engage with clients and stakeholders to support business development, write technical proposals, and shape project pipelines in the UK T&D market. -Mentor engineering teams, contribute to talent development, and drive innovation within the T&D engineering space. What We’re Looking For: -Degree-qualified engineer (Electrical or Power Engineering preferred) with 7+ years' experience in transmission and distribution design, particularly HV substations, overhead lines (OHL), and underground cable systems. -Proven leadership in National Grid and DNO/TO projects, with strong understanding of TP137, impressed voltage, earthing, and temporary works requirements. -Sound working knowledge of UK grid codes, design standards (NGESO, ENA, IEC), and safety regulations including NEBOSH/IOSH certifications. -Track record of managing multidisciplinary teams, budgets, and project risks in a highly regulated environment. -Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
