Blueprint recruitment is looking to speak with motivated Electrical Design Engineers to join a leading infrastructure contractor on a long-term contract basis in Newcastle-upon-Thyme. Our client is providing a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of High Voltage Substation projects, and as the successful candidate, you will be required to operate on a hybrid basis. Our client: Specialising in developing and building innovative and efficient infrastructure, our client operates in a variety of sectors, including Transportation, Water, Power, and Energy. Key Responsibilities: Establish Design content of work package and the Design resource to achieve the required time scales, in line with project plans, via development of detail engineering design plans. Contribute to the development and training needs of the Design Team as appropriate to skills level / experience. Identify all relevant standards and Customer requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant National / International Standards and legislation, and contract specification Design work to be undertaken with due regard to Health, Safety & Environmental Procedures and production of Designer Risk Assessments Attend and contribute to Design Review / Contract Close-out Meetings, ensuring that appropriate items are actioned in a timely manner Liaise with Designers and Draughtspersons on drawings requirements Highlight any design issues to the Assistant Design Manager / Project Manager proposing any possible solution for review Carry out engineering checks as deemed necessary Key Requirements: Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; BSc/MSc preferable. Blueprint are working with one of the largest employers of nuclear specialists in the UK and are currently recruiting for a number of ECI Technicians to support site installation, commissioning and maintenance of a nuclear site. What is on offer? Completive rates and bonus structures. Long term Contract (initially 12 months). The opportunity to play a crucial role in a large scale nuclear defense project. What will you be doing? Carrying out site installation and maintenance of site. Planning and preparing works, including the production of RAMS. Adhering to work packs and best practice and applicable trade/legal standards, health and safety and behavioural requirements. Inspecting and reporting any defects, damage, safety hazards or other problems. What do you need? Experience within the Nuclear, Power Generation or similar regulated industry. The ability to gain SC is crucial but you are not required to currently hold clearance to be considered for the role. ECS Card. BS 7671 Electrical Installation Requirements (17th / 18th Edition). Experience with Cable Pulling, Installations, Inspections, Wiring and other duties carried out by Electrical technicians.
