Attention all motivated Electrical Design Engineers!

Blueprint Recruitment has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading, global M&E consultancy to work on one of the UK’s largest commercial schemes. This long-term contract position is outside IR35, located in London, and requires the successful candidate to operate on a hybrid basis. 

Our client:

As a leading Building Services consultancy, our client specialises in the mechanical and electrical areas of building design. Their team is comprised of highly experienced engineering consultants that are renowned for their various expertise in engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services. Due to their increasing workload, they are on the look out for a driven Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, in-house developed tools.
  • Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
  • Checking the design work of fellow team members and external designers in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations.
  • Preparing conceptual designs with a view to ensuring safe, practical, and economic solutions in accordance with current standards.
  • Reviewing progress, including reporting any anomalies and changes of scope to the project lead.

Key requirements:

  • Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
  • Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or some experience of working within a contractor design environment is beneficial.
  • Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools including Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS and Microsoft packages. Any HV tools will also be beneficial.
  • Awareness of the principles of building physics such as passive design solutions and fabric first approaches.
