Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer and looking to make a difference within the Built Environment? Join our client’s environmental consultancy, on a contract basis, outside IR35, and demonstrate and develop your talents within this leading organisation.

Within this role, the successful candidate will be required to work on a hybrid basis, working 4 days a week for the first month and then 3 days thereafter, from our client’s London office. Apply now to have the opportunity to play a key role in the development of a complex, stage 3, Aviation project.

-Competitive rate of £46-£51.75 per hour (depending on experience).

-Hybrid working arrangements (4 days initially but will transition to 3 days after first month).

Responsibilities:

-Manage and produce accurate mechanical designs, specifications, documentation, and calculations, from concept through to design within an Aviation project.

-Use a variety of software and design tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MEP tools, to create concise drawings, designs, and technical documents and reports.

-Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals, and clients, throughout the lifespan of the projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and overall quality.

-Attend site visits to inspect and examine the project’s progress and ensure the design is being implemented efficiently and in line with the project plans.

-Ensure that all designs comply with the project specifications and relevant standards and regulations, sustainability goals, and safety procedures.

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; Working towards, or at, a chartered status is ideal.

-Extensive experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with a focus on delivering concise designs for Aviation projects.

-Solid understanding of building regulations, codes, and policies, sustainability principles, and mechanical systems.

-Strong proficiency in the use of design and modelling software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical calculation software.

-Strong analytical skills, with the understanding of load analyses, system sizing, performance outcome validation, and mechanical calculations.

-Effective communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
