We are supporting a well renowned engineering consultancy, based in Beckenham, in their search for a seasoned Senior Civil Engineer, who will join their specialist engineering team on a contract basis, outside IR35. Lead and guide project teams through numerous complex Data Centre projects, with a focus on drainage systems, establishing detailed civil engineering designs, ensuring smooth project delivery.

-Competitive rate ranging from £40 to £45 per hour (subject to experience).

-Hybrid working arrangement.

Responsibilities:

-Oversee the production of intricate drainage system designs, across complex Data Centre projects, seeing the development from concept through to detailed design.  

-Ensure all design outputs adhere to current UK industry standards, policies, and regulations, whilst maintaining alignment with client requirements and expectations.

-Liaise with project professionals, across various disciplines, to identify and resolve design issues, whilst ensuring all works align with project plans and design intent.

-Review and validate in-depth drawings, specifications, documents, and reports, ensuring consistency, quality, and accuracy.

-Support professional development within junior team members through ongoing support and mentoring practices, allowing for continuous best practices throughout.

-Promote efficient project coordination, project management, budgeting, and tendering through establishing and maintaining strong rapport with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements:

-Profound experience within a civil engineering role, ideally at a senior level, delivering high quality works for data centre projects, ideally centred around drainage.

-Acknowledgment of relevant design standards, regulations, and codes, with significant technical abilities with software tools, including CAD, BIM, and modelling tools.

-Significant leadership, management, and mentoring initiatives, with strong communication skills, and a maintained problem-solving approach.

-Possession of a Chartered Engineer status, or working towards attaining one, is ideal.
