Role Overview
An established organisation operating within the electrical transmission and utilities sector is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver a portfolio of M&E projects across electrical transmission frameworks, with upcoming works in the Southwest and South Wales.
The successful candidate will lead projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, quality, and commercial performance. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and technical expertise within National Grid substation and transmission environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the construction and project teams in the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of M&E projects
· Provide strategic leadership in health, safety, and environmental management, driving best-in-class standards
· Deliver projects in line with agreed time, cost, quality, and contractual requirements
· Work closely with planning teams to ensure robust delivery programmes are in place and progress is effectively monitored
· Foster a collaborative project team culture across Construction, Commercial, Design, and Engineering functions
· Drive effective risk and opportunity management across all project stages
· Provide leadership and guidance on technical and contractual matters to ensure timely issue resolution
· Support and contribute to new contract tender submissions using industry knowledge and experience
· Assist with the preparation of monthly CVRs alongside the Commercial Manager
· Lead the management team to achieve commercial targets and meet or exceed contract financial objectives
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
· Proven experience delivering National Grid substation build projects, with working knowledge of NG Safety Rules, EPC, and M&E frameworks
· Strong leadership experience on Design & Build projects managing cross-functional teams
· Excellent stakeholder management skills, engaging effectively with clients, supply chain partners, and internal teams
· Qualification in construction, engineering, or demonstrable equivalent industry experience
· Project Management qualification (APM, PMP, or equivalent)
· Strong commercial experience working under NEC contracts
· Demonstrated ability to manage risk and opportunity effectively
· Strong regulatory knowledge, including HSWA, CDM, and EAWR
· Proven ability to deliver projects across the full project lifecycle
· Experience managing project budgets with a track record of delivering on time and cost
· Confident user of project management and reporting software
