Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Rate: £35–£40 per hour

Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a building services consultancy on a 3-month contract basis.

Working on a hybrid basis from Leeds, you will support the delivery of electrical design across a varied portfolio of residential, education, and commercial projects. This role is ideal for a technically strong MEP professional who can contribute from concept through to detailed design.

Key Responsibilities

·         Deliver electrical building services design across multiple projects.

·         Produce calculations, specifications, and technical reports.

·         Develop detailed electrical layouts and schematics.

·         Coordinate with mechanical engineers and wider MEP teams to ensure integrated design solutions.

·         Liaise with clients, architects, and other consultants to resolve technical queries.

·         Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.

·         Support project delivery to agreed timescales and budgets.

Requirements

·         Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within building services.

·         Strong MEP coordination experience.

·         Competent in industry-standard design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech/Dialux or equivalent).

·         Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant electrical standards.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative design team.

·         Strong communication and organisational skills.
