Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (or experienced Associate-level Mechanical Engineer) to join a dynamic Building Services team in Southampton.

This role will focus on delivering highly technical projects, with a particular specialism in healthcare and cleanroom environments. Engineers from a varied project background are encouraged to apply, provided they have strong technical design capability within Building Services.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Lead mechanical design delivery across complex building services projects

·         Take technical ownership of healthcare and cleanroom schemes

·         Produce and review detailed mechanical calculations and specifications

·         Oversee HVAC, ventilation, heating and cooling system designs

·         Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and public health engineers

·         Engage with clients and stakeholders where required

·         Mentor and support junior engineers

·         Contribute to project planning and technical strategy

 

Project Focus

·         Healthcare facilities

·         Cleanroom environments

·         Technically demanding building services projects

·         Broader sector experience also welcomed

 

 

Requirements

·         Proven experience at Principal or Associate Mechanical Engineer level

·         Strong Building Services design background

·         Experience delivering technically complex projects

·         Knowledge of healthcare or cleanroom design principles is desirable

·         Excellent technical and coordination skills

·         Strong communication and leadership capability
