Associate Director – Architecture / Workplace / Master planning

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid – 4 Days Office / 1 Day WFH)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Director to join a growing architectural and design consultancy based in Birmingham.

This role offers the chance to take a leading position within a developing studio, with responsibility for client engagement, project delivery and business development across areas such as workplace design, fit-out, logistics, master planning and urban regeneration.

The successful Associate Director will play a key role in growing the Birmingham studio, contributing to its expansion plans while delivering high-quality design solutions and building strong relationships within the local property and development market.

This is a hybrid role, requiring 4 days per week in the Birmingham office.


Key Responsibilities

As an Associate Director, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the delivery of architectural and design projects
  • Developing and managing client relationships and stakeholder engagement
  • Driving business development and work-winning activities
  • Supporting the growth and strategic direction of the Birmingham studio
  • Overseeing projects across workplace, fit-out, logistics and master planning sectors
  • Managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating design delivery
  • Contributing to urban regeneration and large-scale development projects
  • Supporting the development and mentoring of team members
  • Building a strong presence within the Birmingham property and development market

Requirements

To be considered for this Associate Director role, candidates should have:

  • Proven experience working at Associate or Associate Director level within architecture or design consultancy
  • Strong background in workplace design, fit-out, logistics or master planning
  • Experience delivering large-scale or complex development projects
  • Strong client-facing and business development experience
  • Established network within the Birmingham property or development sector (highly desirable)
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to contribute to studio growth and team development
