PLYMOUTH
Between:£60 and £68 per Hour (Subject To Experience)

This role is ideal for someone with a background in civil, structural or heavy infrastructure engineering who enjoys being on-site, overseeing installation and commissioning activities, reviewing technical information and ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with design requirements.

Working within a high-consequence environment, you'll act as the link between design and construction teams, supporting quality, compliance and technical assurance throughout project delivery.


The Role

You'll be involved in:

  • Overseeing installation and commissioning activities on site
  • Monitoring construction quality and compliance with design requirements
  • Reviewing engineering drawings, calculations and technical documentation
  • Supporting technical assurance and design verification activities
  • Conducting site inspections and progress reviews
  • Coordinating with contractors, consultants and project stakeholders
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues during delivery
  • Supporting health, safety and quality objectives across the project

The role requires a full-time site presence within a complex and highly regulated infrastructure environment.


What They're Looking For

  • Experience as a Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, Clerk of Works or Technical Assurance Engineer
  • Background in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
  • Experience with reinforced concrete or major structural works
  • Strong understanding of installation and commissioning processes
  • Ability to review engineering calculations and technical documentation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Highly desirable:

  • Nuclear industry experience
  • Existing SC Clearance

Also of interest:

  • Marine infrastructure
  • Other high-safety or regulated environments

Experience within engineering consultancy environments would be beneficial, particularly for candidates involved in design review or technical assurance activities.
