This role is ideal for someone with a background in civil, structural or heavy infrastructure engineering who enjoys being on-site, overseeing installation and commissioning activities, reviewing technical information and ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with design requirements.
Working within a high-consequence environment, you'll act as the link between design and construction teams, supporting quality, compliance and technical assurance throughout project delivery.
The Role
You'll be involved in:
- Overseeing installation and commissioning activities on site
- Monitoring construction quality and compliance with design requirements
- Reviewing engineering drawings, calculations and technical documentation
- Supporting technical assurance and design verification activities
- Conducting site inspections and progress reviews
- Coordinating with contractors, consultants and project stakeholders
- Identifying and resolving technical issues during delivery
- Supporting health, safety and quality objectives across the project
The role requires a full-time site presence within a complex and highly regulated infrastructure environment.
What They're Looking For
- Experience as a Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, Clerk of Works or Technical Assurance Engineer
- Background in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Experience with reinforced concrete or major structural works
- Strong understanding of installation and commissioning processes
- Ability to review engineering calculations and technical documentation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Highly desirable:
- Nuclear industry experience
- Existing SC Clearance
Also of interest:
- Marine infrastructure
- Other high-safety or regulated environments
Experience within engineering consultancy environments would be beneficial, particularly for candidates involved in design review or technical assurance activities.
