We're looking for a Chartered Civil Engineer to take a technical lead role on a major infrastructure programme in Cumbria.

You'll lead a small engineering team and act as the client-side Responsible Engineer, supporting recabling works, a new substation and associated civil works connected to the Sellafield programme.

The role requires site attendance in Cumbria 2–3 days per week.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading a small Civil Engineering team
  • Acting as the client-side Responsible Engineer
  • Supporting substation, cabling and utilities works
  • Reviewing and approving engineering deliverables
  • Providing technical guidance and quality assurance
  • Working with project teams and key stakeholders throughout delivery

What we're looking for

  • Chartered Engineer status – essential
  • Strong Civil Engineering background
  • Experience with substations, cabling or utilities infrastructure
  • Experience within Nuclear, Rail, Oil & Gas, Utilities or another regulated environment
  • Previous technical leadership / checking experience
  • Eligible to obtain SC Clearance
  • Able to commute to the Cumbria site 2–3 days per week

The opportunity

£60–£70 per hour, Inside IR35, on an initial 6-month contract, working on a major regulated infrastructure programme with significant technical responsibility.
