We’re looking for a skilled Civil Engineer to bring their technical expertise to a forward-thinking engineering consultancy, joining on a 12-month contract basis. Our client is offering one individual the opportunity to operate on a hybrid basis, working three days a week from their office near Oxford. The chosen candidate will be able to work on a variety of drainage projects, supporting all aspects of project development.
-Competitive day rate of £400-£440 (depending on experience).
-Hybrid working arrangements (3 days on-site).
Responsibilities:
-Design and develop civil engineering systems, from concept through to design, across a variety of projects, with a large focus on drainage systems.
-Produce technical reports, specifications, and documentation, ensuring they align with current UK regulations, standards, and client requirements.
-Work alongside multidisciplinary project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, ensuring that all project elements are being accurately integrated.
-Ensure all work follows key health & safety standards, sustainability objectives, and industry best practices.
-Monitor site-based operations by conducting inspections, carrying out surveys, and verifying as-built conditions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with design intent.
-Guide and mentor junior engineers, promoting professional growth and development, whilst also ensuring efficient project performance across multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualification, in Civil Engineering, or a similar discipline.
-Extensive experience as a Civil or Drainage Engineer, with 5+ years of design experience, ideally on projects centred around drainage systems.
-Proficient understanding of CDM 2015 and current industry standards, regulations, specifications, and key legislation.
-Strong ability to create accurate designs for drainage systems, whist also being able to support construction works when necessary.
-Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with project professionals, whilst also being able to work independently when required.
