We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to
join a leading structural engineering and design practice on a contract basis
in Plymouth. The selected Structural Engineer will help deliver work on major
local defence and nuclear projects. This is a temporary role for at least 6
months. The rate for this is negotiable dependent on experience. This role will
fall inside IR35 post 6th April 2021 so please keep this in mind.
The selected Structural Engineer will have a variety of roles and
responsibilities, including:
Delivering accurate structural engineering solutions
Managing a small group of Engineers and Revit/CAD Technicians
Participating in project meetings and attending site-visits
Liaising with key stakeholders, including the client and contractor
Training and mentoring junior team members
Amending and updating designs
Required skills and experience:
Experience designing and assessing various forms in main materials
Strong technical background and knowledge
Confident communicator and comfortable in a client facing role
Chartered Engineering status with MIStructE, MICE or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working on UK MoD Defence Projects (JSPs), Submarine Facilities Design, Nuclear Projects (Satisfying Safety Cases), Seismic Design (Steel and Concrete to US Codes), Maritime Design (BS 6349), Heavy Civils Design and Building Design
Proven experience on developing projects from concept to construction stage
This role will require silver clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.
