Providing a skilled contribution to the design work for assigned projects within the company and maintaining the technical requirements and the standard of deliverables required for our Structural discipline. 


Sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues across all disciplines, working in close collaboration on a project by project basis.


  • Self-motivation and time management to meet agreed targets and deliverables deadlines.

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work in close collaboration with colleagues across all disciplines, including experience of working closely with Structural Engineers as a team.

  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to ensure that works are being carried out and completed to an appropriate standard and level of detail.

  • Advanced skill level in 2D CAD (AutoCAD) to produce design information.  Knowledge of Rhino and/or specialist 3D software (Shipconstructor and other production packages) is an advantage.

  • Proven understanding of structural arrangements and their purpose with regard to steel vessel construction.  Experience of aluminium structures is an advantage.

  • Proven experience of creating scantling plans from basic scantling requirements and supporting sketches.

  • Proven ability to produce structural drawings to a consistently high quality and to the appropriate level of detail.

  • Experience of shipyard construction and detailing for production is an advantage.

  • Experience of integrating both outfit items and ancillary equipment into a vessel’s layout and structure.

  • Experience of specialist vessels, including small craft and luxury yachts will also be relevant to the role.
