client is a major company in the UK Water Sector. They currently have a vacancy
for an Field Ops Manager to join them on a permanent basis in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop
a team of 16 Skilled Mechanical, Electrical, and ICA technicians who maintain
and repair critical sewage infrastructure across London. As part of the
Strategic Pumping and Trunk Sewers team, the role is responsible for
maintaining and improving the performance of the largest and most historic
Sewer Network in the U.K.
- Customer &
Stakeholder Management: Ensuring an exceptional service to our customers
with early personal interventions as required.
Management: Ensuring the maintenance team meet key operational targets
such as Planned Preventative Maintenance, and Plant Availability.
- Learning and
Development: Continually nurturing, mentoring, and developing the skills
and standards in the maintenance team. Includes ensuring key competencies
such as LV Authorised Person are met.
- Coordinating complex
planned and reactive work: Driving improved standards of maintenance
within the team, overseeing and optimising mechanical, electrical works,
and instrumentation works.
- Health and Safety:
Effectively managing the Health and Safety of your team, ensuring the safe
working practices such as Mechanical and Electrical Safety Rules are
- Financial Management:
Owning and driving intelligent financial decisions to best use available
resource to add value for our customers.
- Experience working within a similar working
environment, with a mechanical, electrical or engineering
background, and preferably working in an industrial field.
- An NVQ Level 3 in an
appropriate Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation/Control discipline is
essential. An effective understanding of telemetry and PLC control
systems, including SCADA is desired.
- Excellent IT skills
and a technical bias are essential, ideally also having a working
knowledge of SAP.
- The ability to lead
and develop people is a crucial skill in this role so you must have
previous management experience with good communication, interpersonal, and
organisation skills. Ideally, you will have gained your experience within
the water industry or utility sector however, this is not essential as
training will be provided.
- The role includes
confined spaces work so you will need to be fit and able to undertake
training and achieve competency.
