New opportunity available for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a respected multidisciplinary Engineering practice on an initial 6 month contract basis working from home. You will be joining a specialist rail team, to undertake work in relation to a number of tunnels and shafts.

Key roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out Geotechnical design and calculations

  • Write geotechnical reports (data interpretation and design reports)

  • Produce design solutions, reports, specifications and drawings which cover a range of project requirements including new builds to modification, maintenance and refurbishment

  • To be aware of the scope of work and the fee related to it and to monitor and report any requests for changes in scope


    The scope of the job includes, but is not limited to:


  • Geotechnical ground investigation

  • Foundation and basement design

  • Geotechnical design calculations

  • Stability assessment

  • On-site supervision of geotechnical work by contractors


    Essential skills, experience and attributes:

  • Experience working in a similar role

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Geotechnical engineering

  • Experience with data recording, and carrying out asset surveys

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritise workloads
