My client are a design and build company providing maintenance and operational services across industrial, commercial and residential sewage treatment and floodwater projects. They are looking for a Program Coordinator to work for them on a permanent basis in Truro.

As the Program Coordinator you will report into the Scientific Services Operations Manager and be responsible for ensuring contracts are delivered to the required standards including planning, day-to-day management, and follow-up.  Ideal candidates will be a recent graduate who has some environmental/technical experience and is looking to utilise this within a programme/project coordination role.

Operational duties

Managing specific programs by:

  • Ensuring required activities are included in weekly/monthly operating schedule

  • Co-ordinating engineers and other resources to provide the most effective use of cost and time

  • Liaison and communication with clients and suppliers including laboratories regarding operational arrangements

  • Planning and programming of field and survey works

  • Overseeing the preparation, procurement, hire and maintenance of equipment

  • Monitoring and maintaining all servicing records relating to individual jobs.

  • Maintaining regular contact with staff during activities, and resolving any issues arising

  • Preparing operating procedures & risk assessment method statements (RAMS)

  • Providing hands-on support to field staff when required 

  • Arranging transportation of samples to laboratory and communicating analysis and bottle requirements with laboratories

  • Processing and interpreting data and operating associated software

  • Specifying and sourcing equipment for field activities

  • Compiling reports including survey reports for clients and contributing to Nijhuis internal reporting

  • Collecting samples and carrying out field activities such as survey work

  • Other duties as required by the business

 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Good organisation, communication, management and motivational skills to maintain daily contact with Operational Staff to promote smooth running of day-to-day operations

  • Good awareness of Health and Safety legislation including RAMS

  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment

Desired

  • Experience of survey work

  • Experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of the environmental / water / wastewater industry
