My  client are a specialist civil  contractor in the UK Water Sector who currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join them on a permanent basis. They are a  growing national company supplying specialist services to the water industry, the Environment Agency and a broad range of private clients. As the Project Manager,  will join a growing, dynamic team working on a range of maintenance projects ranging from up to £500k. 


Role:


Planning

    • Make pre-construction site visits and understand site set up requirements.

    • Ensure suitable access and egress is provided during all project activities.

    • Ensure sufficient planning and design for temporary works

    • Produce scope(s) for your own projects

    • Take part in weekly labour allocation meetings

    • Liaise with SPM/FDM in regards to Temporary Work Coordinator on projects where necessary

       

  1. Communicate effectively with management, clients, wider team and commercial Team

    • Attend site meetings as required.

    • Liaise with commercial team for all matters of finance including early warnings.

    • Attend Team Meetings.

    • Utilise Company communication platforms such as email, workplace, Forums etc…

    • Take part in budget and scope handover meetings.

    • Conduct annual Personal Development Reviews (PDR)

       

  2. Ensuring legal compliance by the team at all times and oversee all matters relating to Health, Safety, and Environment

    • Ensure you have an understanding of the Company's Health and Safety Policy and the allocated responsibilities under the Health and Safety At Work Act including those under the CDM Regulations 2015.

    • Produce and assist with production of Construction Phase Plans.

    • Produce risk assessments and method statements.

    • Monitor/ manage any Sub-contractors or specialist contractors and check they are working to the RAMs provided and relevant permits.

       

  3. Oversee all matters relating to Quality

    • Produce quality plan Ensuring completion and sign off of Quality Test Inspection Plans (QTIPs)

    • Ensure works is completed in accordance with the quality plan, Data sheets and IFU’s

    • Ensure quality testing and documentation is being done and is filled out correctly.

    • Monitor and maintain temp control systems to ensure reg31 compliance

    • Ensure the works are being undertaken in line with the relevant specification and that the correct level of sign off is completed at key points during the projects.

       

  4. Performance - Monitor, review, challenge site standards

    • Undertake frequent site visits and site audits to ensure high standards are consistently met and any issues are rectified.

Qualifications:


Essential

  • Experience working as a Project Manager in the UK Water Sector

  • Understanding in the delivery of civil engineering projects

  • Able to work alone and using own initiative to solve problems and complete daily tasks

  •  Full clean UK driving licence

  • A good communicator, able to liaise confidently and deal with a variety of people including the client, suppliers and wider team members face-to- face, in writing and on the telephone

  •  Organised, focused and self-determined

  • Strong IT skills, in particular MS Excel


Desirable


  • Possess a nationally recognised certificate of Health and Safety or NEBOSH qualification

  • Experience gained within the water industry, ideally clean water industry

  •  Some experience of specialist coatings, concrete repairs etc ideal but not essential
