Our client is a multi multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy providing structural and civil engineering, planning, design, and consulting services. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Senior Engineer to join their Team in their London Office. The successful candidate will join their Surface Water Management Team and work on flood risk, drainage strategy and drainage infrastructure projects.


  • Project Management with good commercial awareness and financial control.

  • Carry out technical work ensuring high levels of safety, quality and environmental responsibility.

  • Technical quality of own and team’s work in accordance with engineering practice, standards, design methods and H&S legislation.

  • Prepare feasibility, designs, design calculations, tender documentation, scheme evaluations and design statements,

  • Check work including third party design proposals.

  • Supervise technical work.

  • Engage in third party liaison successfully leading to enhanced reputation and repeat work.

  • Support the team leader with preparations of bids and proposals.

  • Assist with the promotion of capabilities of the company to current and prospective clients.

  • Comply with internal management system procedures.



  • Civil Engineering degree.

  • Chartered Engineer (Preferred).

  • Experience of modelling using Infoworks ICM, Flood Modeller and TUFLOW (Preferred).

  • Good understanding of responsibilities of water companies, local flood authorities and Environment Agency in relation to flood risk and drainage (Preferred).

  • A Practical knowledge and experience of drainage design, assessment and maintenance work.

  • Experience of drainage design and designing and implementing SuDs for new developments.

  • Experience of modelling of surface water drainage, watercourses and waste water networks, preferably using MicroDrainage.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and organisational skills.

  • Be able to work well in teams and provide direction to more junior members of staff.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
