Are you an experienced Engineer who has experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment using continuous improvement? Are you looking to work for a Global Manufacturing Company in their Telecoms part of the business? If so, I currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Process Improvement Engineer to join their Telecoms Department which produces Fibre Optic Cables.

You will report into the Technical Engineering Manager and be responsible for providing technical support and solutions to improve all aspects of the manufacturing processes, using continuous improvement and proactive methodologies.



  • Manage the Process Engineering Apprentice.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the production line processes, to include root-cause identification of faults, defects and process issues.
  • Propose, evaluate and implement improvement projects to provide cost savings in areas such as material, machine and manpower efficiency, and “Cost of Poor Quality”.
  • Interpret cable design specifications and provide Process Instructions and Job Details to Production.
  • Optimize process capability by specifying appropriate process conditions and control limits
  • Specify, develop and purchase tooling and equipment for the production lines.
  • Advise other support functions (eg Sales Enquiries, Purchasing, Logistics, Quality, Design, and Marketing) on manufacturing issues and capabilities.
  • Supervise the industrialisation of new processes and product developments
  • Technically evaluate, approve and introduce new materials.
  • Commission new equipment and manufacturing lines.
  • Manage routine inspections of process sensitive machine features.
  • Produce CAD drawings to communicate to external resources and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and report on relevant key factory performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Establish and maintain technical and training documentation.
