Our client are an engineering consultancy who currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join them on a permanent basis just outside Carlisle. The successful candidate will work alongside Project Engineers and Scientists to oversee the delivery of large, complex engineering/construction projects.

From inception to closure the  Senior PM will manage the successful delivery of projects to time, cost & quality constraints while meeting internal and external stakeholder expectations. An understanding of major hazard testing would be beneficial. This is an exciting opportunity to work on some major projects and play a key role in driving these forward.

 

Role:

  • Drive successful, efficient project delivery through focus, perseverance, resilience and strong working relationships with Project Engineers, Scientists and delivery teams
  • Plan & track project delivery, proactively managing the critical path
  • Resource and financial forecasting
  • Procurement planning, tracking and managing delivery of key items
  • Risk anticipation and proactive problem solving
  • Track risks, issues & key project KPI's including compliance with site and company procedures including HSE and CDM
  • Internal and external project reporting
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, flexing style to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Identify critical project and client dependencies and proactively manage
  • Focus on an efficient delivery to maximise revenue
  • Manage scope, identify any creep and manage commercially
  • Manage and control budgets to achieve target profit
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills 

Qualifications/Experience

  • Structured methodology experience - qualified in Prince 2 or PMP.
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering work to specific timeframes, costs and quality
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including MS Project.
  • Experience of working with Oracle Finance or similar
  • Strong engineering/utilities background
