We’re looking for a skilled Civil Engineer to bring their technical expertise to a forward-thinking engineering consultancy, joining on a 12-month contract basis. Our client is offering one individual the opportunity to operate on a hybrid basis, working three days a week from their office near Oxford. The chosen candidate will be able to work on a variety of drainage projects, supporting all aspects of project development. -Competitive day rate of £400-£440 (depending on experience). -Hybrid working arrangements (3 days on-site). Responsibilities: -Design and develop civil engineering systems, from concept through to design, across a variety of projects, with a large focus on drainage systems. -Produce technical reports, specifications, and documentation, ensuring they align with current UK regulations, standards, and client requirements. -Work alongside multidisciplinary project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, ensuring that all project elements are being accurately integrated. -Ensure all work follows key health & safety standards, sustainability objectives, and industry best practices. -Monitor site-based operations by conducting inspections, carrying out surveys, and verifying as-built conditions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with design intent. -Guide and mentor junior engineers, promoting professional growth and development, whilst also ensuring efficient project performance across multidisciplinary teams. Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualification, in Civil Engineering, or a similar discipline. -Extensive experience as a Civil or Drainage Engineer, with 5+ years of design experience, ideally on projects centred around drainage systems. -Proficient understanding of CDM 2015 and current industry standards, regulations, specifications, and key legislation. -Strong ability to create accurate designs for drainage systems, whist also being able to support construction works when necessary. -Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with project professionals, whilst also being able to work independently when required. Within this role, you will be required to work on-site from our client’s site in Oxford, in which you will be responsible for a leading variety of infrastructure projects, ensuring that projects are completed in a safe and timely manner, keeping to budgets, and maintaining a high level of quality. -Competitive day rate ranging from £500-£600 (depending on experience). -On-site working arrangements. Responsibilities: - Direct and coordinate all site operations, including labour, subcontractors, plant, and materials, ensuring efficient delivery from start to finish. -Ensure that all projects comply with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards. -Keep up-to-date and accurate records, safety documentation, and reports of all site activities. -Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to find solutions for any project issues, and to ensure the project is progressing well. - Ensure all as-built drawings and documentation are completed for a smooth project handover. Are you a seasoned Electrical Design Engineer and ready for the next step in your career? Our client, a well-established construction, engineering, and architecture consultancy, offers a collaborative environment where your technical skills and expertise can help develop the built environment. On a contract basis, outside IR35, you will be required to work remotely, but will be required to attend our client’s office, located near Oxford, once a week. Within this position, you will have the opportunity to build your growing portfolio with a variety of Data Centre projects. -Competitive hourly rate of £45-£55 (depending on experience). -Remote working arrangements (office presence once). Responsibilities: -Assist the design and delivery stages within complex Data Centre projects, from concept through to design, with a focus on electrical process elements. -Conduct extensive electrical load calculations, lighting design, equipment allocation and selection, and distribution drawings, ensuring alignment with current regulations. -Produce concise specifications and drawings using relevant software, such as Revit and AutoCAD, whilst working with other professionals ensuring system integration. -Conduct site visits, commissioning, and inspections, allowing for installation reviews, troubleshooting issue identification, as-built alignment, and quality assurance. -Support sustainability through producing design strategies, ensuring that low carbon, electrical solution resilience, and energy efficiency are being implemented. -Keep up to date with industry progressions and apply them into projects. Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. -Extensive experience with producing design for electrical building services systems, for a multitude of Data Centre projects. -Proficient understanding of lighting, life safety systems, LV systems, and fire alarms. -Strong understanding of software tools, such as Revit, AutoCAD, and other design platforms, like Amtech, Dialux and/or Relux. -Acknowledgement of current Building Regulations, RIBA design phases, and Building Services standards. -Effective communication and collaborative skills, with a detail orientated and proactive mindset. You will be required to work on a hybrid basis from our client’s Oxford office.
