Here at Blueprint recruitment, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join a respected construction and operations Contractor, on a long-term contract basis, outside IR35. The successful candidate will be working on a hybrid basis in our client’s Winchester office 1-2 days a week.

The opportunity arises due to the increasing demands for the Contractor’s services in the infrastructure sector, particularly in Residential, Educational and Commercial Building Structures.

Key Responsibilities:

· Act as the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties

· Lead multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion, within budget and to programme

Offer support and guidance to more junior members of the team

· Effectively manage own time which may be necessary if allocated to more than one project

· Be a technical champion within the team

· Build client relationships and help identify business opportunities

· Assist in managing the broader team through mentoring and training

Key Requirements:

· Chartered Engineer or working towards (ICE or IstructE)

· Able to develop scopes of work and delivery programmes

Strong structural design and analysis software knowledge is beneficial

- Experience with Masterseries

- Experience working on Timber Frame buildings 

· Excellent communication and presentation skills that can support our client relationships

· Ability to manage and work to budget and program, to control costs and manage change control processes

· Have experience in several, and ideally all of the following areas:

UK MoD Defence Projects, Submarine Facilities Design, Nuclear Projects, Heavy Civils Design and Building Design.

·  Previous experience acting as a Discipline Lead

· Good understanding of current design standards and working practices

· The ability to make decisions, act on your own initiative and operate in a pro-active way
