SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Location : CROYDON
Rate from : £30.00 per Hour

Excellent new opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in London. Our client delivers a varied range of projects, but are looking for an experience engineer with extensive Data Centre experience to join their growing Mission Critical team.

As the selected Senior Mechanical Engineer, your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Designing Mechanical Building Systems, equipment, facilities, components and products

  • Using specialist CAD and BIM software’s to design systems required for projects

  • Acting as a technical mentor for junior engineers

  • Attending project design team meetings with clients and architects

  • Liaising with other engineering disciplines in order to successfully deliver the project

  • Liaising with the client and other key stakeholders

Essential skills, experience and attributes:

  • Ideally degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or achieved Chartered status with CIBSE

  • Extensive knowledge of Mechanical/HVAC systems

  • Working knowledge of IES and Hevacomp

  • Experience working on Data Centre or other Mission Critical projects

  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and legislation

  • Experience working in a client facing role

  • Revit MEP and BIM360 experience is desirable

The chosen candidate will have a variety of roles and responsibilities to ensure the success of the business, they will include:

  • To support the Design Manager in providing a high quality design service covering all the mechanical aspects of projects from inception through to project completion and client handover.

  • Carry out technical duties / design on design & build projects in collaboration with other designers and the project teams.

  • Provide design/technical assessment support of all tenders, paying particular attention to the technical risk assessment of both traditional and design & build projects.

  • Manage / lead design work throughout design and build projects in collaboration with the project teams, undertaking design reviews and appraisals

In order to carry out the required tasks efficiently, candidates must have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified in a related discipline or ability to demonstrate 10 years practical experience

  • HND Building Services Qualification

  • Proficient communication skills, and report writing skills.

  • Extensive experience within Healthcare and Hospitals specifically.

  • Eng Tech ACIBSE, AMIET

  • Experience of using Building Services software packages such as Autocad and Hevacomp.

  • Previous history of managing and delivering projects

  • Ability to work from home and go into the office a few days per week.
