We're looking for a Design Manager to join a major water contractor delivering high-value projects across programmes for United Utilities, Scottish Water and Yorkshire Water. You don't necessarily need to already have “Design Manager” on your CV. If you're a Senior Engineer with strong water-sector experience who's ready to step into leadership, this could be the opportunity to make that move. What does the role look like? You'll provide technical direction across multiple water projects, working closely with Delivery teams to make sure designs are practical, efficient and ready to perform beyond the drawing board. You'll have the freedom to challenge designs, identify better technical solutions and influence how projects are delivered. Your role will include: Leading multidisciplinary engineering and design teams Providing technical direction across multiple water projects Identifying design issues and driving practical solutions Managing technical teams against project programmes and budgets Supporting projects through design, construction and commissioning Contributing to preconstruction design, estimating and cost planning Developing the Engineers within your team Who are we looking for? Water industry experience is essential. Beyond that, we're interested in someone with a strong engineering background who is ready to take genuine responsibility for people and projects. You'll ideally have: A Degree, HND or HNC in Engineering, or equivalent Experience at Senior Engineer or Design Manager level Strong knowledge of water and wastewater engineering Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams Good understanding of the wider project lifecycle Confidence dealing with clients, senior management and delivery teams The ability to lead, develop and get the best from other Engineers These requirements reflect the supplied Design Manager brief, including its emphasis on multidisciplinary leadership, water and wastewater technical competence and project lifecycle experience. We're looking for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of electrical works across major water and infrastructure projects. You'll provide hands-on engineering support from installation through to testing and commissioning, coordinating subcontractors and resolving technical issues to keep projects moving safely and efficiently. We're looking for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of works at a 400kV substation. You'll work closely with the Site Manager, providing SR163 cover when required and supervising site teams and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme. The Role As the Environmental Advisor in this role, you will be joining an established company looking to rapidly grow its own in house environmental capability. You will provide environmental support across major infrastructure and construction projects, working closely with project teams, contractors, clients and stakeholders.
