We are looking for a talented Civil Engineer to bring their technical expertise to a forward-thinking engineering consultancy, leading them towards continued operational brilliance.
Within this opportunity, to join this organisation on a permanent basis, you will be required to work on a hybrid basis, having all works be based around our clients Watford office. Responsibilities:
-Produce concise civil engineering designs, documentation, and calculations for private infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client needs.
-Coordinate with multidisciplinary design professionals, clients, statutory bodies, and contractors to ensure accurate design and delivery implementation.
-Conduct site visits and meetings, oversee site works with relation to design intent, whilst also identifying and resolving potential risks and issues.
-Put together accurate documentation, reports, and drawings, whilst inspecting works for consistency and compliance with project specifications and requirements.
-Support with fee proposal preparation, scope definition, and bid documentation, when required, reinforcing business development.
-Nurture continuous professional progression by keeping up to date with any technical advantages and through mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
Requirements:
-5+ years of experience as a Civil Engineer working on projects within the UK private sector, preferably within the logistics sector.
-Impressive portfolio demonstrating previous works on private infrastructure, with the inclusion of earthworks, drainage, and external works.
-Strong understanding of drainage system design, with a proficiency with MicroDrainage and/or Flow, and Civil3D for cut and fill, level, and ground modelling design.
-Ability to conduct flood risk assessments (Zones 1-3), as well as an understanding of paving and external yard slabs design, in line with TR66 standards.
-Solid understanding of Design and Build (D&B) contract procedures, with experience of stepping into a novated engineer role.
-Effective communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to represent the organisation within meetings.
