Overview
A new vacancy has been created for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing Building Services team in Woking.
This is a senior-level opportunity suited to a technically strong mechanical engineer who can take ownership of projects, lead design delivery, and play a key role within the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the mechanical design of building services projects from concept through to completion
· Take technical ownership of HVAC, heating, cooling and ventilation systems
· Produce and review detailed mechanical calculations and specifications
· Oversee drawing production and ensure compliance with UK standards
· Coordinate with electrical, public health and other multidisciplinary teams
· Attend client and design team meetings
· Mentor and support junior engineers
· Contribute to maintaining high technical and quality standards
Requirements
· Proven experience operating at the Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer level
· Strong background in Building Services mechanical design
· Excellent technical knowledge of HVAC and associated systems
· Experience delivering projects across multiple RIBA stages
· Strong communication and leadership skills
· Ability to manage workload and support project deadlines
