An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a growing power engineering business supporting the delivery of major HV and 132kV electrical infrastructure projects across the UK. This Electrical Estimator role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience preparing competitive tenders within the power sector. You'll play a key role in reviewing opportunities, building accurate cost estimates and helping secure major electrical infrastructure projects by producing commercially robust submissions. The successful Electrical Estimator will work closely with operational teams, suppliers and clients to develop winning tender strategies while helping shape a growing estimating function within the business. The Role As an Electrical Estimator, you'll be responsible for: Preparing detailed estimates and tender submissions for HV and 132kV electrical infrastructure projects Reviewing tender opportunities and identifying commercially viable bids Producing accurate cost estimates from first principles Developing and maintaining estimating templates and reference libraries Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations Liaising with operational, engineering and commercial teams throughout the bid process Identifying project risks and value engineering opportunities Supporting bid presentations and client clarification meetings Ensuring estimates remain commercially competitive while maintaining profitability Monitoring market trends, material pricing and supply chain performance This Electrical Estimator position offers the opportunity to play a significant role within a growing business while influencing the success of major power infrastructure projects. What We're Looking For We're looking for an Electrical Estimator with proven experience delivering successful bids within the power sector. Ideally you'll have: Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator, Senior Estimator or Bid Engineer Experience estimating HV or 132kV electrical infrastructure projects Strong understanding of tendering and commercial bid preparation Experience producing estimates from first principles Knowledge of electrical substations, power networks or utility infrastructure Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities Experience gained within any of the following would be highly advantageous: ICPs (Independent Connection Providers) DNOs (Distribution Network Operators) OEMs Transformer manufacturers High Voltage electrical contractors Utility infrastructure projects Why Apply? Are you a Senior Structural Engineer and possess the skill and knowledge to be the driving force for change within the engineering industry? We are looking for a skilled individual to join a forward-thinking civil and structural engineering firm, in a permanent position. Our client is offering the opportunity to work on a variety of complex and challenging projects, across a large span of sectors, whilst operating on-site from their main office in Norwich. -Competitive salary ranging from £50,000-£55,000 (depending on experience). -Company pension scheme, on-site working arrangements, generous annual leave, and ongoing career development opportunities. Responsibilities: -Produce and analyse structural drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations, throughout all project stages. -Manage and monitor structural engineering design activities for a variety of multidisciplinary projects, from concept through to completion. -Oversee project teams, focusing on task assignment, and performance reviews, whilst supporting junior engineers towards continuous professional growth and development. -Coordinate with multidisciplinary professional teams, and other relevant project bodies, proposing effective structural solutions to enhance project efficiency. -Observe project deliverables, budgets, and programme milestones, whilst pre-emptively identifying potential risks and concerns, allowing for appropriate escalation. -Promote business development through client presentations, proposal preparation, and ensuring brilliance through advancements within structural engineering practices. Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related discipline, ideally with a chartered status, or actively working towards achieving one. -6+ years of experience managing teams and producing works for a variety of multidisciplinary projects. -Strong understanding of relevant software tools, such as Tekla, Tedds, Robot, AutoCAD, or similar platforms. -Excellent communication and leadership skills, with an ability to manage projects within a limited deadline and budget. -Significant team management abilities, with strong organisational skills.
