Are you an experienced BIM Technician looking to work for the UK’s largest gas distribution network? This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the future of UK Energy. My client are proud to be an industry leader and they have a brilliant opportunity for a BIM Technician to join their team in Slough, although a hybrid working structure is on offer.

The Opportunity:

As the BIM Technician you will report to the Design Engineer you will undertake a range of design and planning activities associated with Replacement and Capital projects i.e. network connections, reinforcement and mains replacement & diversions and ensuring that all works are performed in accordance with safety, technical and legislative policies and procedures. 


Your day to day duties will include: 


  • Responsible for applying SHEQ-related policy / procedures, Construction Industry Safety Legislation, and Cadent requirements to challenge design and to design risk out of projects.

  • Responsible for ensuring designs comply with policy and procedures.

  • Taking information from multiple plans and incorporating them into a single Revit model

  • Produce quality Section/Plan 2D drawings from 3D Model

  • Creating Revit Families for Various Utilities Models (Specially Gas related Products)

  • Liaising with design teams, clients, architects, surveyors, engineers and project managers

  • Assisting engineers and senior managers with drawings and blueprints

  • Producing structural models and schedules using computer programmes and BIM

  • Presenting your designs and making amends based on feedback or prototype testing

  • Designing technical solutions for buildings and other structures

  • Ensuring plans are accurate and easy to interpret

  • Accomplished in understanding and applying network design requirements.

  • Responsible for prioritising workload and supporting the team to produce results in a timely manner to meet business needs.


What you’ll bring:


  • Experienced in BIM enabled Software like Autodesk Revit, AutoCad, Navisworks, BIM 360.

  • Minimum ONC in a mechanical discipline

  • Extensive experience in network design processes

  • Confident ability to discuss technical issues and with all key stakeholders

  • Experience of managing relationships with both internal and external interfaces

  • Experience of delivery planning within a network model including graphical representation of detailed phasing

  • Have a dedicated approach to working within and meeting strict deadlines

  • Ability to work on own initiative, self-motivated

    Able to demonstrate good communication skills at all levels
