DESIGN MANAGER

Derby | Permanent
£70,000 - £85,000 per Annum

Blueprint Recruitment have a new and exciting opportunity on offer for a seasoned Regional Design Manager to join a leading engineering firm, in a permanent position. Within this role, you will be expected to work on a hybrid basis from our client’s office in Derby, but our client will consider candidates located in Kent and East Sussex. SITE OPERATIVE

Cardiff | Contract
£23 - £26 per Hour

Are you an experienced Site Operative and ready for the next step in your career? Join our client’s forward-thinking utilities contractor firm, on a 7-month contract basis, as they are offering you the opportunity to make a difference within the Energy sector. The successful candidate will be expected to work on-site, from their main site in Cardiff. Build your impressive portfolio of works with the knowledge and skills gained from this opportunity to work on a complex substation project. -Competitive hourly rate of £23-£26 (depending on experience). -On-site working arrangement. Requirements: -Support in the preparation and maintenance of site environments, focusing on material handling, waste removal, and general upkeep of tools, materials, and equipment. -Conduct general labouring activities, with a focus on reinstatement, ground works, excavation support, and more. -Maintain and ensure effective risk assessments, safe systems of work (SSoW), and method statements, allowing for all works to follow health and safety standards. -Work collaboratively with site professionals to ensure all works are executed accurately and effectively, complying with time and quality standards. -Report and document any damage, defects, and issues with all equipment, materials, or plant, to ensure concerns are escalated properly. -Follow company and site policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining readiness for site works. DRAINAGE ENGINEER

London | Contract
£35 - £40 per Hour

Looking for a role where your work truly makes a difference? Our client is on the hunt for a skilled Drainage Engineer to play a crucial role, supporting project development, within their leading engineering consultancy, on a contract basis, outside IR35. Working 2 days a week, on a hybrid basis, from our client’s London office, you’d be responsible for the pre-planning and design stages within a variety of Residential projects. -Competitive hourly rate of £35-£40 (depending on experience). -Hybrid working arrangements (2 days on-site). Responsibilities: -Produce technical designs for surface and water drainage systems, with an inclusion of SuDS features, and occasional FRA work. -Compose strategies, documentation, and calculations for drainage systems. -Build rapport with clients, teams of professionals, and regulatory bodies to ensure that the project is meeting the requirements that have been set. -Use software tools such as Civil3D, Causeway flow, AutoCAD, and InfoDrainage to expertly create drainage designs. -Attend site visits to allow for project development assessments and inspections. -Assist the project’s delivery from start to finish. Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering, or a related field. -Extensive experience as a Drainage Engineer, or a similar role, working predominantly on drainage systems within the Commercial and Residential sectors. -Strong understanding of the use of software tools, such as Civil3D, InfoDrainage, Causeway flow, and AutoCAD. -Solid grasp of current UK drainage standards, best practices, and SuDS. -Excellent communicator, with a problem-solving mindset and a willingness to work collaboratively with other professionals. -Working towards a membership of a professional body, such as ICE and/or CIWEM, is ideal. COMPETENT PERSON

We are working with a specialist utilities contractor who are offering one talented individual the opportunity to join their organisation, on a 7-month contract basis. The chosen candidate will be working on-site from our client’s office, located near Leeds. Build your expertise with this opportunity to manage and oversee the ongoing works within a HV substation project. -Competitive day rate ranging between £320-£350 (depending on experience). -On-site working arrangements. Responsibilities: -Act as the assigned Competent Person on a HV substation, overseeing all works, ensuring that operational standards and procedures are being followed. -Observe and ensure that all works are being carried out accurately and in line with industry standards, legislation, and best practices. -Analyse and confirm method statements, documentation, safe systems of work (SSoW), and risk assessment, ensuring all work permits are valid and in place. -Support professional teams, project staff, and subcontractors with technical guidance, allowing for anomalies and issues to be identified and resolved. -Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure up to date and accurate reports and site documentation, whilst assisting with audit and compliance surveys. -Maintain awareness of ongoing industry standards and processes, offer system improvement opportunities, and training to allow for improved project performance. Requirements: -Extensive experience as a Competent Person, or a related role, with the relevant accreditation, ideally working on projects centred around HV substations. -Must possess NG Persons accreditation, as well as CP NSI 6 and NSI 8. -Strong technical background, with an understanding of relevant electrical, civils, utilities, or related systems, with a grasp of key legislations, regulations, and standards. -Effective communication and organisational skills, with the ability to collaborate with site professionals, clients, stakeholders, and contractors. -Solid interpreting skills with regards to drawings, method statements, specifications, and documents, with the ability to resolve any arising issues. -Ability to work independently whilst managing multiple concurrent site tasks and activities, with an understanding of how to prioritise tasks. -Possession of a full UK driving license, with the willingness to travel when required. BRIDGE ENGINEER

The successful candidate will be required to work on a hybrid basis from our client’s office, located near Liverpool.
