Site Engineer – Power Infrastructure / T&D Projects (Contract)
Location: Birmingham (Site-Based Role)
Rate: £400 per day (Outside IR35)

This role offers the chance to work on a long-term site-based project, supporting the Site Manager and overseeing construction activities, subcontractors and technical delivery on-site.
The successful Site Engineer will play a key role in setting out, quality assurance, technical coordination and site supervision, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
As a Site Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Supporting the Site Manager in day-to-day site operations and delivery Carrying out setting out, levelling and surveying activities Interpreting and working from construction drawings, rebar drawings and schedules Verifying subcontractor works and ensuring compliance with design specifications Acting as a technical advisor to subcontractors and site teams Managing quality assurance processes including ITPs, inspections and documentation Maintaining site records, reports, diaries and as-built data Managing and coordinating temporary works (TWC responsibilities) Supporting RFI and technical query processes Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards (SHEQ) Assisting with handover documentation and project close-out
Requirements
To be considered for this Site Engineer role, candidates should have: 5+ years’ experience as a Site Engineer within infrastructure or power projects Experience within transmission & distribution (T&D) or utilities projects Strong experience in setting out, surveying and site engineering activities Experience managing subcontractors and site coordination Strong understanding of quality assurance and site documentation processes Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Essential:
· National Grid Person
· UK Drivers Licence CSCS or equivalent safety certification SMSTS / SSSTS or IOSH qualification
Desirable: Experience working on National Grid or major infrastructure projects Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) experience Knowledge of permits, safe systems of work and site compliance processes First Aid or additional safety certifications
