This role is ideal for someone with a background in civil, structural or heavy infrastructure engineering who enjoys being on-site, overseeing installation and commissioning activities, reviewing technical information and ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with design requirements.
Working within a high-consequence environment, you'll act as the link between design and construction teams, supporting quality, compliance and technical assurance throughout project delivery.
The Role
You'll be involved in: Overseeing installation and commissioning activities on site Monitoring construction quality and compliance with design requirements Reviewing engineering drawings, calculations and technical documentation Supporting technical assurance and design verification activities Conducting site inspections and progress reviews Coordinating with contractors, consultants and project stakeholders Identifying and resolving technical issues during delivery Supporting health, safety and quality objectives across the project
The role requires a full-time site presence within a complex and highly regulated infrastructure environment.
What They're Looking For Experience as a Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, Clerk of Works or Technical Assurance Engineer Background in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering Experience with reinforced concrete or major structural works Strong understanding of installation and commissioning processes Ability to review engineering calculations and technical documentation Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Highly desirable: Nuclear industry experience Existing SC Clearance
Also of interest: Marine infrastructure Other high-safety or regulated environments
Experience within engineering consultancy environments would be beneficial, particularly for candidates involved in design review or technical assurance activities.
