The role will focus primarily on retail projects for major blue-chip clients, including large national retailers. This is an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for ongoing work for the foreseeable future for the right individual. The Role You will be responsible for delivering electrical building services designs across retail-led projects, working closely with internal teams and clients in a collaborative environment. Electrical Design Engineer (Contract – Outside IR35) Location: London (Southeast) Contract Type: Contract IR35 Status: Outside IR35 Duration: 6 Months Start Date: ASAP (05/02/2026) Hours: 40 hours per week Role Overview An experienced Electrical Design Engineer is required to support a portfolio of TfL infrastructure projects, primarily focused on ticket hall lighting and smaller electrical works across stations and depots. This is a contract role suited to a hands-on designer with strong experience in building services electrical design within live transport environments. The Opportunity An established and highly regarded building services engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing London team. This is a newly created role driven by a strong pipeline of work in the data centre sector, with a clear focus on technically challenging and sustainability-led projects. The position offers a senior engineer the chance to take real ownership of mechanical design delivery, influence key technical decisions, and play a mentoring role within a collaborative, design-focused environment. The Role As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical building services systems from concept through to completion. You will work closely with multidisciplinary design teams and clients while helping to shape best practice and drive innovation across projects. This role is well suited to an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work, client engagement, and supporting the development of junior engineers.
