Our client is looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their leading engineering consultancy, on a 6-month contract basis, outside IR35. Within this role, the successful candidate will be operating on a hybrid basis, attending our client’s London office three days a week. This opportunity will consist of designing and developing a variety of Data Centre projects, stages 4-5.
-Competitive hourly rate of £48-£51 (subject to experience).
-Hybrid working arrangements (3 days on-site).
Responsibilities:
-Develop in-depth electrical system designs focusing on project layouts, schematics, performance calculations, and specifications, across numerous Data Centre projects.
-Ensure all designs follow current regulations, standards, and building codes, whilst allowing for reports and documents to remain up-to-date and accurate.
-Implement cost and energy solutions, promoting project efficiency, taking lighting, energy conservation, power usage, and control systems into consideration.
-Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project works are progressing smoothly, following design requirements and intent.
-Support construction phase works by looking at contractor submissions, attending site visits and inspections, and settling design queries
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a similar field.
-Prior experience working on a variety of international and UK based Data Centre projects.
-Proficient understanding of design and modelling tools, including AutoCAD, BIM, and Revit.
-Solid grasp of current electrical and safety standards, regulations, and commissioning processes.
